Toys for 2 to 4 Year Olds
What are the best toys for toddlers? Macy’s carries a wide selection of toys perfectly suited for your child during their “preschool years". These years emphasize different stages of development that can help toddlers become curious leaners. Shop Macy’s for toys to help them learn—and have loads of fun along the way!
What types of toys should I get my 2-4 year old?
1. Arts and crafts. For some (messy) colorful fun, buy lots of coloring books, crayons, stamp sets and paint sets. To contain the creative fun, use an activity table. Many even include a set of chairs with the table, so your little one can sit and play with a friend or sibling.
2. Puzzles and games. Puzzles are great to help your little boy or girl learn shapes or even recognize different animals, letters and numbers. And what little one doesn’t love games? From jumbo blocks, bean bag tosses and toy bowling sets to pretend play with their favorite costumes, there is a game for every stage.
3. Educational toys. Educational—and nothing but fun and games. Help your little learner count change with a digital coin bank or play money set. Soon they’ll be cheerfully shouting “now I know my ABC’s!” with help from an alphabet magnet set or alphabet truck.
4. Play food sets. For the little chef (or baker) in the making, a play food set is a must. Play food such as veggies, burgers, hotdogs and sandwiches or cookies and cakes are all important to purchase. To complete their pretend play, don’t forget a chef costume or kitchen accessories like play pots, pans and mixers.
5. Stuffed animals. Mini pet parent, reporting for duty. Stuffed animals make great snuggle buddies…or if they’re life-size, your little one can pretend to take care of it like a real pet puppy or kitty. An adorable favorite, a plush Mickey or Minnie mouse can help bring out those toothy and oh-so silly smiles.
Helpful Hint: Be sure to carefully read the information and instructions on all children toys you purchase. Many include warnings or choking hazards that the toy may not be suitable for a certain age range and where adult assembly is required.
There’s nothing like a kid with a new toy! Stop by Macy’s to stock up on a variety of awesome toys for 2 to 4 year old’s!
