Why return a broken statue?

Received my horse broken. Called Macy’s customer service bc I wanted to see if I needed to return a broken statue. Of course I need to return it after I sent customer service a picture of it broken. She said I will get my refund as soon as I return broken statue. I’m thinking it’s gonna be even more broken when it get back to Macys. But if they just have to have it to give me my refund then I will send it back. I just won’t be purchasing from Macys anymore.

The painting on the horse I received was far to different from the picture, I purchased on sale but it still wouldn’t work for me because it was too light
