Simplicity at its brightest, the Harper floor lamp produces plenty of ambient illumination in a slim package. The minimalistic satin steel pole body is steadied by a round metal base. Light is gently diffused through a white linen fabric shade with a frosted diffuser. An Adesso patented 300 Watt Double Socket construction allows for two crisscrossed sockets, each holding on/off 150 Watt incandescent or LED bulbs which provides approximately 3 times more light than a typical torchiere. A simple high/low rotary switch is located on the shade cup to adjust the brightness. This lamp has a black cord and is smart outlet compatible. Bulbs are not included. Use incandescent bulbs up to 150W or dimmable led bulbs (DO NOT USE: 3-way bulbs or CFL's)

Nice modern look, but too many design flaws

I really wanted a modern torchiere lamp to brighten up our room. Unfortunately, it will not be this one. The light bulbs stick out about an inch and a half from the top of the lamp, which to us, looks odd and doesn't show in the online picture. I had thought the cord coming out of the bottom few inches of the main pole (rather than out through the bottom so you couldn't see it) seemed strange...and it is. Also, the cord is black, rather than clear, and stands out too much from our light colored flooring. Additionally, the center post is so slim, the whole thing wobbles for a bit after you turn it on or off. And lastly, the light bulbs flicker (which in fairness, could just be our bulbs.)

Bright and beautiful

Bought two of these because I needed bright lights for my living room/dining area. We have no overhead lighting in my apartment and these add bright yet soft light. My friend bought in gray because it did such a great job of bringing light to a dark area.

Not very sturdy

I loved the look of this lamp and the lighting was very bright and lit up the room well. However, the lamp is not very sturdy. It came lopsided and would shake any time my cat remotely came close to it. My cat also easily knocked it down because it is just not a very well made lamp.

Too small

It's nice, but the part where the light comes out was so small we had to return it.

Great light output

Nice looking lamp with excellent wattage. Slightly wobbly, but not a problem unless it's in a high traffic area.

Elegant and modern

The shape and grey tone of the shade is very cool. gives my office a modern look. Also the two way bulb is great for varying brightness

Good looking and functional

A good value for the budget conscious. Lamps are expensive and this represents an alternative to spending a lot more money for essentially the same style lamp. Not quite as study as one would wish, but expectations are fulfilled.

Meh

It's pretty thin and flimsy once put together ... my package came without the "included" wignuts, so I can't even affix the shade to the lamp. Even if keeping this didn't require a trip the hardware store, I'm not sure I'd keep it. It's quite bland and doesn't appear to be sturdy.
