Not velvet. But beautiful dress

The dress is very flattering and I will wear it for my daughter’s wedding. But disappointed that it is not velvet. It’s a stretchy, shimmery fabric. On me at least, the sleeves were not to the elbow as described but midway between shoulder and elbow.
