Not what I expected

This mattress protector is made well and fits over the mattress easily. However, it is not quiet as I had hoped and the mostly polyester fabric seems to keep the mattress from breathing. I purchased this to alleviate my dust mite allergies, but cannot tell if it is making a difference yet.
