Known issue 7/8 mem chan useable..no bios fix 2yrs

Only 7/8 Memory channels are usable. Everyone i have found with this board online has exact same problem. Still no bios fix released. I really want to give this board a 10 but i cant because now my compute throughput is reduced by 1/8th performance because Asus is lazy.

Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for your feedback. We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused regarding the memory channels. While this motherboard supports 8 memory channels, it may only allow7/8 to be usable due to a design feature. Specifically, the MUX used to switch different back groups on the motherboard. To detect 8 memory channels, try to change the "BMC DRAM SMBUS" to BIOS in the BIOS setup page > Server Management. Great Board

Purchased the board with a 5995WX 64-core CPU, 256GB ECC, 2-4TB Samsung 990 NMVe, and an ASUS GeForce 4070TI. E-ATX board has plenty of room for cards. Easy to install and setup. I used Noctua fans and the temp at 70% is only 62 C. If I build another board I'll purchase this same board.

Pro Data-Science Workstation Build

A full-featured high-quality motherboard. I really like the ability to update firmware/bios out of band using a dedicated USB connector. The built-in VGA controller enables BIOS access independent of GPU presence. Lots of great documentation and reference build examples. Very easy to identify and purchase compatible custom-build components. Great choice for either workstation or head-less server scenarios. Solid Win11/Linux drivers and apps.
