Another winner by T.I. Lowe! I loved the idea of renovating a ghost town and the process the characters went through to bring this project to fruition. Main characters Avalee Elvis and Rowan Murray are thrown together on this project, unknown to Avalee. The clincher here is that they both have a history together and haven’t seen each other in about six years. This makes for some great tension throughout the novel but at some point, I was just hoping that she would get over it. Avalee’s grandmother Maudie is a hoot and remains the calm in the storm. There is a surprising runaway teen, construction mishaps, a cute pup, and plenty of banter between the two main characters to maintain a wonderful flow to the novel. I was kept wondering if this couple could use a renovation of their own, so it was so easy to keep turning pages to find out what would happen. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed several of her books but Indigo Isle was my favorite but this one has replaced it. She has a great backlist and I definitely would love to read more of her work and highly recommend her. I think she only writes one book a year. Trigger warning: pregnancy loss/still birth I borrowed a copy of this book from my local public library and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Emotional
"A new start doesn't negate the past. It learns from the roots of history and blooms into a better version" "Can a person be a ghost town? I believed so for a very long time" An emotional journey from broken to restores again, for the abandoned town and at the same time for Avalee and Rowan. Grief, loss, second chances, friendship and family among all sort of side and interesting characters. The audiobook is amazing with Zura Johnson leading all the drama, humor ans everything in between

Heartfelt second chance
As a co-owner of Lowcountry Lost, a company that rehabs old buildings, Avalee wears overalls and a hard hat. But below that hardhat is a hard head and a hardened and bruised heart. On the job to bring a ghost town in Somewhere, South Carolina back to life, she is shocked to find that the engineer for the project is her ex husband, Rowan Murray. This story is a look at a painful past and how to get beyond that pain. “A new start doesn’t negate the past. It learns from the roots of history and blooms into a better version.” Avalee compares herself to a ghost town: “once flourishing yet now just so dang exhausted.” She puts her all into the re-making of the town of Somewhere, and in the process, reclaims the love she thought she lost forever. The characters were realistic and well drawn, the plot so interesting with the construction work needed to give the town a complete overhaul. A favorite character was Bash, a teen who helped on the crew. Preacher, the dog who liked to sleep in the chapel, stole the show, along with various other items. But the clincher was the reconnection and healing of Avalee and Rowan. Along with the drama, there was a ton of fun and some witty banter and deep spiritual lessons. This was an outstanding Southern Comfort story from a talented author. *A complimentary copy of this book was provided by Tyndall via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.*

Read this book!
Lowcountry Lost T. I. Lowe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Avalee Elvis can fix just about anything, and has made a living reclaiming properties in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. The only thing she can't fix or escape is the hurt and regret of her past. During the renovation of a town named Somewhere, Avalee comes face to face with the one man she's tried to forget. Rowan Murray is hired by Avalee's investors to oversee the structural aspects involved in the redevelopment of Somewhere. At one time, he was the man who knew Avalee better than anyone else, but neither of them were equipped for what happened between them six years ago. Rowan is hopeful that working together on this project will provide an opportunity to mend and restore what was broken between them. True to her gift, Lowe addresses a heart-wrenching subject surrounding miscarriage and stillbirth. She writes with such emotion you can’t help but be drawn into the broken story of Avalee and Rowan. Amidst a thieving dog, a hurting teenager, and a pursuing Irishman there are plenty of light-hearted moments to captivate the reader. This was a well-written story that undoubtedly will help those in the world of loss and grief find the strength to share their stories and embark on their own road to healing.

Wonderful story!
I loved this story! The very first line sucked me in and I became so invested in these characters and their lives that I felt like I was living it with them. T. I. Lowe is one of my favorite authors so I expected nothing less. Everything I have read by her has been so well written and completely immersive. I loved both Rowen and Avalee and wanted to know their entire story from beginning to end. While we eventually get it, I was flipping the pages as fast as I could to try and figure it out. I felt their heartbreak through the pages. The pain they went through and how it affected them individually and their marriage was heartbreaking. I loved watching Avalee heal and I loved how Rowan helped her through it. Speaking of Rowan, wow, what a great character! I absolutely loved his personality and his dedication to Avalee! When we find out his story of healing, my heart literally ached for him. I really enjoyed all of the secondary characters and the depth they added to this story! Lowcountry Lost, while heavy at times, is also full of healing, humor, southern charm, and wonderful characters! Do not miss it! I both purchased and received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own. 5 stars! The faith thread is light.

beautifully-layered, engaging, vibrant, emotional
4.5 stars I never simply ‘read’ a book by T.I. Lowe. I experience it. The lifelike characters become dear friends, my inner voice develops a sassy southern twang, and for as long as it takes me to reach the end, I’m living every word. Mostly, I’m giggling, grinning, or swooning while doing so, but there’s always a moment (or two or three) in one of Lowe’s books where I suddenly find myself sobbing, my heart touched to the point of tears. Lowcountry Lost is no exception… but it IS exceptional. Avalee is a bit of a hot mess, and I love her for it. She’s sassy but big-hearted, she’s most at home in her Carhartts but she indulges in colorful manicures on a regular basis, she successfully restores whole towns but runs off & hides when a certain swoony Irishman from her past rolls into town. She’s coming from a place of great pain and loss, seeing herself as the ghost towns she revitalizes and closing herself off in certain ways, but her ‘Somewhere’ bucket list lets us see past her walls in ways we wouldn’t have otherwise. Speaking of that swoony Irishman, whew! Keep a fan close by whenever Rowan is on the page because wowza. His accent, his wink, his cheeky side (uh… in more ways than one lol), his steadfast pursuit of Avalee, his own heartbreak. Ok, apparently I need a fan to write this review… Ahem. It’s not all sparks and passion, though. Their story… their past… their shared grief… man it undid me. Absolutely gorgeous and heartfelt writing from Lowe and a compassionate handling of difficult topics. And y’all, the healing they experience, the restoration of more than just a town, I can’t even put into words how beautiful it is or how it knit my undone heart back together. A discussion of Lowcountry Lost wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the array of delightful secondary characters that help make this book impossible to put down. Des, Nita, Froid & Fred, Maudie, even the town of Somewhere… and my personal favorites Bash, Koda, and Preacher. Each of these colorful personalities brings their own special recipe of humor, heart, and life to the story, and each has an important role to play in the protagonists’ growth across the novel. They may technically be ‘only’ supporting players in the overall plot but their contributions are crucial nonetheless. Without them, this story wouldn’t be the same. Bottom Line: In Lowcountry Lost, T.I. Lowe delivers a beautifully layered, engaging, vibrant, and even at times raw story of loss, grief, healing, grace, hope, love, restoration, redemption and, yes, romance. The demo and revitalization of Somewhere, the delightful characters, and the author’s pitch perfect writing voice make this novel supremely entertaining. But it’s the demo of Avalee’s emotional walls and the exquisitely tender restoration of her heart and Rowan’s (among others) that make it unforgettable. Fans of heartfelt Southern fiction, second chances, lots of chemistry, and shows like Home Town will definitely love Lowcountry Lost, but this exceptional story should be read for so many more reasons than those. Reviewer’s Note: Readers may want to be aware that there are certain plot points that may be emotionally difficult for those who have experienced a particular form of loss. (I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.)

Heartwarming story
"Lowcountry Lost" by T.I Lowe was such a sweet and heartfelt story. Avalee and her crew are set to create a new town in South Carolina out of a ghost town. I loved watching the buildings and town unfold on the pages. When she starts work on the town, she is given an unexpected surprise when her past catches up with her at the arrival of Rowan. Their chemistry and banter was so fun throughout the story, even at their tender heart wrenching moments. T.I. Lowe handles some sensitive topics with care and sensitivity but please make sure to check warnings for your own. Thank you to T.I Lowe, Tyndale House and Kate Rock Book Tours for a gifted copy!

An emotional roller-coaster!!
Wow! Prepare for an emotional roller-coaster. This book had me laughing and crying. There is loss, heartbreaking memories, and tears. There's also second chances, new memories, and renewed love! "We'd lost a lot, but look at how much we'd found within the ruins of our loss." These characters are some of my all-time favorites! Avalee's backstory broke my heart. Her losses were monumental. As each piece of the puzzle was coming together, I hoped that the product would be a brighter future. Rowan- hunk! Yes, he's more than that! He's compassionate, trustworthy, persistent, and loyal! I'm so happy that Bash and Koda found a family! Some difficult issues are brought up in the book. Death, murder, miscarriages and failed relationships. I really appreciated the author's note concerning miscarriages. I, too, had a scare, and it's traumatizing. The reminder that God is in control is important. Somewhere, South Carolina is brought to life as each building is restored and revitalized! It's a place that I'd definitely like to visit! This is the first book I've read by T I Lowe, but it certainly won't be the last! I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from Tyndale and Interviews and Reviews via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
