Poor quality - not worth the price

The quality of this corner bookcase is horrible. The finish is inconsistent. It is unevenly finished with areas not fully painted and other areas rough to the touch vs smooth. The screws for the top shelf are too short, so they will not fasten. I thought it was me, but other people have tried with no luck. I was excited to order this as it fits perfectly in a problem area, but for the price, I can't deal with the quality. It is going back. :(
