A light, powerful laptop with a minor drawback

The Chromebook works fine. I bought it to replace another HP Chromebook that broke down. But the lettering on the keyboard is so faint that it is difficult to see in low light conditions. Because I touch type it works out okay except for when I need to use unusual characters for things like passwords or numbers. Other than the keyboard issue, this Chromebook feels a little more cheaply made, but the battery lasts a long time and the machine is light and easy to carry. I'd buy another one, but I would have opted for a machine with better marking on the keyboard.

IT'S JUST A BIG PHONE ISN'T IT?

I just wish anyone had ever been clear about what a Chromebook does. The answer is, it does nothing! It's like having a giant phone. You have to DOWNLOAD everything including all your microsoft programs in order to view and print and you cannot SAVE anything unless it's in cloud storage on OneDrive or some other program. Also a lot of function keys are missing from the usual keyboard functions (like the DELETE key) that a laptop usually has. And, no matter that I always include in my search a BACKLIT KEYBOARD and although the adds always promote this model as well as others as backlit, IT IS NOT. If you are an adult and not a nine-year-old using it for school work, leave it and buy a real laptop.

Give it a 4 of 5 b/c it's not a high end powerful PC

Generally pleased. Purchased to replace a Chromebook that was too old to update. Transfer of files,settings, and programs was seamless, Easily connected to my home network for remote work and printing.The very sensitive touch pad is problematic for me so I use a mouse.Good for web browsing, light word processing, and remote connection to my MS laptops and Linux desktops.

Works for an old guy.

Everything an old guy needs to read news, check sports, bank and just surf the web. Connected to my HP printer with no issues. I don't video edit or face time and I don't trade stocks online. Compatible with you tube tv so that's a plus. Perfect for my needs. Price didn't hurt either.
