absolute garbage. went thru 2 of these in the last 5 years. The most frustrating part is that we dont even use the microwave often. Both times there was no fixing it, we had to replace the microwave completley.

Great but Screen Issues
Microwave works great but all of a sudden the screen started flickering and even after unplugging the unit from power it continued flickering.

Response from lg.com
Hey there! Glad to hear your microwave has been working great, but we definitely want to help with the flickering screen. This could be related to the control board, power supply, or display components. Try unplugging the microwave for a few minutes to reset it and check for any visible damage or loose connections. If the flickering continues, it may need professional service to diagnose and replace any faulty parts. Send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and we’d be happy to assist! ^ Diego
Terrible lifespan
Purchased in late July 2023 (manufactured in April 2023), screen started flickering in Oct 2024, and microwave quit working January 2025; just 1.5 years of service. What a waste.

Templates missing and then non useable.
We tried to install ourselves. The new over the range microwave came with no installation instructions and no template. LG sent us the templates but they did not match the microwave. We ended up drilling holes in the top cabinet in the wrong places. It seems as if the templates were back to front or upside down. In the end we used common sense but one of the long holding screws is leaning so our microwave has a slight slant towards the front. The template for the back wall has the vent cut-out in the wrong place and does not match where the exhaust motor is at the back of the microwave. Now the cooking smells blow around the sides and at the top of the microwave back into the kitchen.

Hey there. Glad to hear you're enjoying your microwave! The stainless steel design definitely adds a sleek touch, and it's great to know it's working well for you. Hope it continues to make mealtime even easier! ^ Diego
No Timer !?
Microwave does not have a "Timer" function. I've never seen a microwave without a timer before. It does have a button called "Time" but apparently that just means "Cook Time." Which is the same as the basic function of the microwave. So that button is entirely redundant and useless. Everything else has worked okay so far (only been 2 months). Our builders installed this with our new home. If we had a choice, we would have gone with something else.

Hi there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your situation and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It’s important to us that you’re happy with all features of your LG microwave, and we’re here to help clarify things. Regarding the timer function, while this model doesn’t have a dedicated "Timer" button, the "Time" button allows you to set the cooking time for microwave operation. We suggest using the microwave's manual or auto-cook functions to help with preset time options, but if you specifically need a timer for other purposes, it can be a bit more limited in this model. https://www.lg.com/us/cooking-appliances/lg-lmv1764st-over-the-range-microwave#pdp_specs We’d love to assist you further if you have any more questions or need additional troubleshooting. Don't purchase
We purchased this microwave 3 years ago. For the past 1.5 years its been inconsistent (off/on) in being able to heat food. Today it died on us. Spend your money on another microwave.
