Curtains do darken a room.

The curtains are darkening and are made of double material, but a bit too short horizontal wise and had to buy another pair to completely cover window width-length. In fact, one panel is a little too short for a window that is 24-25inches wide-horizontal. While it does reduce light, it does not reduce the traffic noise levels from the street. They do come with tie backs which some companies do not include.
