What a lovely story about family and how the seeds we plant today can affect generations to come! Beautiful illustrations show the back and forth between the children of today playing on a huge pecan tree, and Nell, the grandmother who planted the tree so many years ago. I love how every single page connects to a part of my childhood, from climbing trees to finding the perfect spot to read. Beautifully Written, Thoughfully Illustrated
Nell Plants a Tree brings me back to my childhood days spent in the countryside with my great-grandparents. The words within Nell Plants a Tree make me wonder about the memories the trees held on my family's land. Anne Wynter's words are a reminder that the trees and nature around us are so much more than bark and a canopy. They hold history from their roots to the very tip-top, and in that history are generations of families, laughing, living, and loving. Nell Plants a Tree is a joyful look at how one child's action of the past created a future for generations to come. A must-have book for the classroom and home.

Makes a Wonderful Gift!
NELL PLANTS A TREE is a beautiful lyrical account of the roots once planted. It's a story about family, passage of time and the celebration of strength. Anne Wynter thoughtfully toggles between two moments in time. The beautiful artwork by Daniel Miyares brings each growth season and mark in time to life. I highly recommend this gorgeous picture book.

Lyrical story about more than trees
Nell Plants a Tree is a lyrical story about trees, but, just like the roots of a tree there is more to the story underneath the surface. Anne Wynter weaves in a narrative of family and growth and patience framed by Nell’s planting of a single seed. With beautiful illustrations this picture book manuscript makes for a sweet read aloud that will draw children in with its warmth.
