This duffel has worked great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This duffel has worked great as my main bag for plane trips for work. I’m able to carefully pack slacks, shirts, and a folded suit for a 3+ day trip. When it’s not packed very full, it does sag when used as a duffel. As a backpack, it’s comfortable enough for walking around the city and at the airport. Biggest plus: Even though other passengers on the plane needed to gate check their bags, this one was small enough to be allowed in the cabin anyway.

Perfect personal item for economy flights
I bought this bag to make it easier to pack for inexpensive flights that don't include overhead carryons. For a one-bag personal item only trip, this bag provides maximum space and versatility. I've taken it on many different airlines, including Spirit, American, Delta, and Sky airline, and it fits under all the seats. I've also worn it as a backpack while horseback riding during a trip, and it was fine.

Marvelous for plane travel
I just returned from two weeks in Portugal with this Daylite bag and a 25"" rolling checked bag. It worked so well! Use it as a backpack in the airport, then stow it under your seat -- it should fit under most seats unless it's absolutely bursting with stuff. The pocket on the short end is perfect for your phone and passport and earbuds. In the main compartment, I kept books for reading, a wrap for the airplane, and my laptop. We drove a car most of the time in Portugal and I kept the big rolling checked bag in the car -- just put what I needed for a night or two in the Daylite. Carried that, plus a cosmetics bag, into each accommodation, and was all set. Love the versatility and the size of this bag!

Sagging design that looks bad and is uncomfortable
The bag looks good and the pockets are useful, but it is unstructured and sags at the middle when you hold it with either a small or heavy load. It looks really, really bad. Osprey should take this back to the drawing board. The only water bottle pocket is at a very awkward 45* angle, which somehow provides an opportunity to the bottle to fall out in duffel mode or backpack mode. I would return this if it weren't a gift.
