Lack of Notice for Product Discontinuation

I have been an Estee Lauder customer for over 40 years. Have always been satisfied with their products. This time, unbeknownst to me and Macy's, Soft Clean was discontinued. It would be beneficial to customer satisfaction, if Estee Lauder could give advance notice and make suggestion for an alternative, so that Macy's could notify its customers. I am dissatisfied with the way Estee Lauder manages its product life cycle.
