I love it!!!!

5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another amazing story from Lucy!!!! So easy to read, funny with a hint of „give me a tissue, I’ll cry”, spicy and good for book slump. My went away so so fast. 😁 Luke and Harper are both great characters. Harper, a total sunshine with her own chaos and even bigger heart. Luke, a little grumpy with some dark clouds above his head but available for anyone who needs his help and in need for someone to break his walls. His and Harper’s chemistry was “born” very quickly and no matter if they had a good or bad time - they knew it and everyone around them was aware of it too, especially when Luke got territorial….and he did. 😁 “𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞?” “𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞? 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦? 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐛 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭.” “𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞.” This little town was so charming. I mean….I need the inside of the whole karaoke plan haha

Pretend You're Mine - Emotional Rollercoaster!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This was my first Lucy Score novel and it did not disappoint. I really liked this, even though I wanted to yell at Harper and Luke many, many times throughout. Despite it all, I understand why they are the way they are and I found myself totally immersed in this book. You will experience ALL of the emotions - this is a fantastic read and I can't wait to get book two!

Must read! Won’t regret :)

This is the 2nd Lucy Score book I’ve read. 1st was Rock Bottom Girl which I thought was alright so I was iffy about reading this one but I already bought it. As soon as I started reading I was hooked! This book is so well written that it’ll keep you engaged and wanting more. I finished it in a week. It’ll make you smile, laugh, mad, cry and every emotion in between. It is a book that will have you feeling good when you’re done reading it. I highly recommend it!

Must read

I. Don’t. Know. How. I’ll. Recover. After. This. My thoughts and emotions are all over the place. The raw intensity, the flow of the story, interactions between characters, just everything was pure wonder. The instant connection between Harper and Luke, I could feel the tension through the pages. Two complete strangers, with total opposite past, and different futures, find themselves being pulled to the other. I was captivated by everything in this book. Harper’s ability to see the good in anything given the way she grew up shows the strength and endurance she is capable of. The relationships she develops over time and how she helps everyone around her is incredible. Being stuck in the past has a vise grip on shattering Luke’s future. Punishing himself for things out of his control, thinking he doesn’t deserve to be happy or move on. But the people around him have had enough of watching him fall apart. The relationship that blossomed between Aldo and Harper had me laughing and crying. Harper’s connection with Sophie and Gloria was bond that would never break. And landing the town where she finally felt at home. Luke had challenges that are incomprehensible and unimaginable. But working through them and finding support in his family and friends, he is able to see through the darkness. “Luke rarely divided his attention, making it seem like he was always fully focused on the task at hand. It was that focus that Harper felt every time he looked at her. She felt important. Worthy. Interesting.” “Baby, you and I both know that this was something special. But I’m not surprised. I knew from the second I saw you, the moment you opened those beautiful gray eyes and looked up at me, that I needed to be inside you.” He tugged her hand up to his mouth and placed a kiss on her palm. “I don’t know what’s happening here, but you’re in my head and my blood. There was no way that this was not going to happen.” “Should I really be taking advice from a man who’s never been married?” “Don’t have to jump off the cliff to know you die at the bottom.”

Good

3.5 overall 3 for spice Third person pov, small town, relationship of convenience. Harper + Luke were a decent quick read. The story started off on the slower side and I didn’t really feel much of a buildup of tension between them. It just kind of got me feeling like “okay let’s get to the good part”. If you’re someone who needs a good grovel, this probably is not your man. While there is some, the parting words he shares with Harper I felt were a little too easily d forgiven and forgotten. Overall though it was a good heartbreaking story and if you tend to like these tropes then I recommend giving it a shot!

Beautiful Book and entertaining read!

If there was ever a perfect premise for a Hallmark movie, this would be it. Pretend You're Mine is a small town romance with a sweet but spunky FMC, a military hunk with a heartbreaking past, and loveable side characters. There's tropes like grumpy/sunshine, fake dating, unrequited love, found family and one bed/forced proximity. You'll go through several emotions and just when you thought things were going good, BAM. Luke needs punched in the face. I understand why Luke said what he did, but I'm not sure if I totally forgive him after those words. Harper definitely needed to make him grovel more in order to win back her affections. Overall though, I enjoyed this book and hope you do too!

Romantic Suspense

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the Benevolence series. I loved Harper's character, and her character connected with Luke's character right away. I loved the beginning, and the book keeps me wanting to not put it down. I really loved getting to know the characters in this book series, and I loved getting to uncover the dark secrets of the main characters. I loved the ending so much. I am so glad I picked this book up. I loved this book so much. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
