I don't think it's worth the extra money

It's good enough but it's not 65% better than its competitors as its price suggests. Sometimes I wonder about its corner sharpness. It has a good weight. The focus ring could have a better feel to it.

Great for portraits especially for low lighting.

It was not cheap in price but worth every Penney of it. I use it for selling my advertising for newspapers and magazines. I tell clients Will Rogers said I never met a man I didn't like. I say I never took a picture that you are not going to like!

The focus breathing issue occurs when the focal length of a lens changes slightly as you adjust the focus, resulting in a change in the field of view. While focus breathing is a characteristic of certain lenses, you can try using Manual Focus or pre-focus and then locking the focus to mitigate or minimize the focus breathing impact when using the Sony Alpha 7S III camera with the SEL1635GM lens. My Review for FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM

I sold my lens and then discovered that I could not do without it so I purchased another. I use it for street photography to capture the environment and subject, astro and landscape photography. I've found it's not a lens I use often but when I need it, it's invaluable. I'm very happy with the sharpness of the lens and its low light capability. Wish list, I would like it to be lighter in weight.
