Ordered more than once

Perfect products and service every time. Not sure what happened to the other customer as I have been happy. The pattern even makes me happy. Every piece is lovely and perfect. I am ordering bowls now to add to my collection. But I use them. My Grandmother told me to use them and do not save them for just special occasions. So I am.

Great Quality and Gorgeous Pattern

I am so sorry about the previous reviewer experience with the product. I purchased several serving pieces besides plates and mugs by Spode, Woodland Collection -- Blue Winged Teal. After I read the negative review I checked my purchases and I noticed that all of the dinner and salad plates were made in England but the serving pieces were made in China. The pieces made in England are flawless. I could not find any fault with the China made serving plates but I noticed that the white background was not as white as the pieces manufactured in England. The transferware of the English pieces was of superior quality for the knowing eye. So, my guess is that the pieces that looked like of second quality as described by the previous reviewer were probably made in China because the British pottery houses were and are known for uncompromising quality.

Disappointed in quality

I love this pattern. However, it took months to get it and Macy's indicated it was back ordered from Spode. I've ordered other pieces in this collection from another retailer and same issue. Spode takes 2-3 months to fulfill. The more concerning issue is the quality. It appears Spode does not inspect well. I had 2 complete place settings that had major flaws and had to be returned. There were issues with wobbly pieces (base uneven), hairline cracks, chips, spots in material that shouldn't be there, and even one where the transfer design was messed up big time. The issue with chips and cracks has to be the packaging by Spode. There's little protection in the Spode boxes. They need foam to secure them. It's ashame such a nice concept is ruined by poor manufacturing. I felt like I was getting outlet pieces that were second quality.
