NOW A NETFLIX ORIGINAL SERIES In the tradition of great storytellers, from Dickens to Dahl, comes an exquisitely dark comedy that is both literary and irreverent, hilarious and deftly crafted. Never before has a tale of three likeable and unfortunate children been quite so enchanting, or quite so uproariously unhappy. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are intelligent children. They are charming, and resourceful, and have pleasant facial features. Unfortunately, they are exceptionally unlucky. In the first two books alone, the three youngsters encounter a greedy and repulsive villain, itchy clothing, a disastrous fire, a plot to steal their fortune, a lumpy bed, a deadly serpent, a large brass reading lamp, a long knife, and a terrible odor.

Very Addicting! WARNING: Spoilers

A Series of Unfortunate events: A Bad Beginning is a very suspenseful book that will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time you are reading. It starts with Three young children, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire, taking a trip to a beach on a cloudy day, to find out that their parents had perished in a terrible house fire that destroyed everything they owned. They were left with nothing but a fortune that can only be claimed once the oldest Bauldelaire becomes of age. They were forced to live with a family relative by the name of Count Olaf who will now become their legal guardian. Count Olaf had one mission which was to take the Baudelaire fortune and kill the children, Yes I know, it is very dark. The rest is up to you to read, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has the opportunity to read it.

Mischievous and Interesting

The beginning of this unfortunate series has no filter. And that is what I love about it. It presents every story and character with story lines, unfortunate events, and depressing topics. Right from the beginning Viola,Klaus, and Sunny the Baudelaire siblings loose their loving parents, their home, and all their belongings to a great fire. Loosing their parents while they were having their day vacation at the sorrow, dark beach. Unsuspecting of any such news they are announced to live with their great family member that was unheard of. Count Olaf, their distant relative was the only family member in the area the siblings were custody under. The infinite amount of conflicts that arose in this story were believable, but unpredictable. Once the children moved in with Count Olaf, they had already realized and were on his suspicion. Olaf was not who he said to be. For example one bad act in the story was his play. Count Olaf put these children in the play and Viola's character had to marry him. These quick observing children new he was up to something. They had spoke to the neighbors about his legal rights over him and if he is allowed to do what he's doing. I realized how much this book can mean. It is almost frighteningly real in it's own fantastical way. Yes, some things upset me in this book. But for the good. It taught me, and I believe it would teach other readers. These characters come to life through the authors art in writing. A very talented and teaching author. The author's reputation is still going with this mischievous creative book. These smart kids went back to Poe to tell him that they are not being treated right. What is happening to them is not rightful and even proved this by showing him Klaus's bruise. These kids have gone through so much in this book and it is a very dark and scarily humorous book. I recommend this to all readers. Especially young mature children. This series is very well written, and from the very beginning very special and unique. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. It deserves many eyes and ears reading and listening to it. Very inspiring, life teaching, changing, and different.
