To those who say this book is boring, it would be boring to live in an office/attic in constant fear. I read this book as a young girl and I just reread it as an adult. I think this book is a healthy reminder of how damaging hatred and prejudice are. I'm sad this happened to them and I am sad prejudice and hatred exist today. God created us all equal.

A must-read!
"Will I ever have the chance to write something great?" I wish we could tell her that she did, but part of me believes that she already knew this. Anne Frank is a very clever teenage girl with an amazing capacity of self-knowledge. She is extremely attentive to details and mature for her age, and it is clear throughout the book that she was born to be a writer. Anne's diary is a valuable piece of history as we get to accompany her through the struggles during the Second World War and understand more about how the Jews dealt with all this hate and persecution. I loved the reading and would definitely recommend it, as I believe we could all learn a lot with Anne Frank. You can be sure to be amazed by Anne's strong personality and consciousness!

The Diary of a Young Girl
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank is a book I will never forget. As many people know, we can’t read each other’s minds or know in full completeness what someone is thinking. Rather than just hearing about the Holocaust, like many stories, through this diary you feel the frightening situation of Anne and the others in the secret annex. Not only are you given a look into what life was like during the Holocaust, but what being a teen is like. This diary takes you through Anne’s life from her 13th birthday until three days before she and the rest of the annex were arrested. Anne is put through countless amounts of scrutiny, faced with hardship, and trying to find who she was, all the while hiding for her life. The book was, in all sense of the words, the truth. Anne spoke about what she felt and gave an inside look as to the exact fear and worries she faced every day. It was neither fixed to hide her thoughts nor edited to the point where the description of characters fades from reality to fantasy. It was unlike any other book I have read before, and I enjoyed each moment. She told one of the most detailed stories you could ever think of. Each word painted an image of what her situation was like creating a deeper understanding of the hardship she went through. Her situation was not easy, but I feel sometimes the reality of the Holocaust is not stressed enough in general. However, Anne writes in a way that makes me see this situation in a different light. I will never know what it is like to fear every waking moment, every radio broadcast, every knock on the door, but it is important to our understanding of this era of history to fully grasp the true story which Anne outlines perfectly. Countless books have been written, where we feel we can connect with one character through a mutual trait, but never have I read a book as relatable as Anne Frank’s diary. At her age, there are countless thoughts running through your brain every second, and you’re continuously questioning who you are, how you act, and who your friends are. I felt that even though my situation is different from hers, I could understand exactly what she was feeling. I think it is important for people of all ages to understand this time in our history and what it was like for the millions of people that had to go through it. This book is a great source for anyone who wants to learn, feel, and understand this time in our history. The book is a work of art. Though it took some time to read, each minute was worth it. It was interesting, truthful, and captivating. I enjoyed reading about the world through her eyes. This book would connect with many girls in today’s day and age. It is an inspiration and most importantly, allows you to realize you’re not alone if you don’t know who you are. Her diary is a story I will continue to connect with; I know it will leave a lasting impression on me forever, so I highly recommend reading it.

Amazing Story!
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl is an autobiography written by Anne Frank while amidst the Nazi occupation. The book was originally published June 25th, 1947 by Contact Publishing and consists of 268 pages. The Diary of Anne Frank is categorized as Jewish Literature and is a well known coming of age story. The diary tells the story of a young Jewish girl enduring World War 2 with her family. Although Anne Frank lived through unimaginable circumstances her endurance and determination is what kept her alive so long throughout everything. Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl focuses on the story of a girl born in Frankfurt Germany, and growing up during the Holocaust. Anne Frank writes about her life in first person and tells the stories of hiding in an annexe, leaving all her belongings and friends behind, and being transferred to a concentration camp where she was designated to live. The book begins with Anne living a normal life and experiencing normal things such as her life at school, friends, and crushes. Anne’s family heard stories about the Nazi’s propaganda, rumors of concentration camps, and executing Jew’s but they didn’t belive it would reach them. The diary of Anne Frank consists of eight main characters that bunk together in the secret annexe, Anne Frank, Otto Frank, Edith Hollander-Frank, Margot Frank, Mr.Van Daan, Mrs.Van Daan, Peter Van Daan, and Fritz Pfeffer. The Van Daans, Franks, and Fritz lived together for over two years while cohabitating until they were found and seperated into different Nazi Camps. Miep Gies helped the two family’s get food, water, and supplies to survive while hiding in the annexe, after they were captured Miep kept Anne’s diary safe and later gave it to her father after the war ended and everything settled. As Anne Frank wrote in her diary, she once considered and hoped that her entries would reach other people, depict, and educate what life was like for her and other Jew’s living through the Holocaust; Anne Frank succeeded in this idea and now many people and schools have read her diary and have been enlightened. Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl is powerful and significant to understanding in a first person point of view what life was really like for Jew’s in Germany in the early 1940s, her words convey a sense of reality for such an unimaginable time. Although the Diary of Anne Frank was an amazing and moving book you could easily develop a lack of understanding and interest for some portions and entries. Once the book is finished and you reflect on it, it is an outstanding and impactful story as well as incredible that Anne was able to keep motivated with everything going on around her. I would one hundred percent recommend this book to anyone above 6th grade as it deals with heavy and grim topics that would be unsuitable for anyone under that grade. Overall, Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl was a brilliant book. It was moving, emotional, and amazing to read about Anne’s real life experiences during the Nazi occupation and her endurance to survive so long. The diary relays the story of a brave, caring, smart, and intelligent person surrounded by chaos yet still continuing to live the best life possible, without needing nice things to be content and happy.
