#1 New York Times Bestseller In this path breaking guide, two of the world's most popular and trusted pet care advocates reveal new science to teach us how to delay aging and provide a long, happy, healthy life for our canine companions. Like their human counterparts, dogs have been getting sicker and dying prematurely over the past few decades. Why? Scientists are beginning to understand that the chronic diseases afflicting humans-cancer, obesity, diabetes, organ degeneration and autoimmune disorders-also beset canines. As a result, our beloved companions are vexed with preventable health problems throughout much of their lives and suffer shorter life spans. Because our pets can't make health and lifestyle decisions for themselves, it's up to pet parents to make smart, science-backed choices for lasting vitality and health. The Forever Dog gives us the practical, proven tools to protect our loyal four-legged companions. Rodney Habib and Karen Becker, DVM, globetrotted (pre-pandemic) to galvanize the best wisdom from top geneticists, microbiologists and longevity researchers; they also interviewed people whose dogs have lived into their 20s and even 30s. The result is this unprecedented and comprehensive guide, filled with surprising information, invaluable advice and inspiring stories about dogs and the people who love them.

Can't tell the wrong from the right

The book clearly states that canines do not hunt or eat at night. That is incorrect. Really incorrect. That statement was the basis of the book's argument about when to feed your dog. If that is incorrect, what else is not true? After that statement in the book, I began questioning other statements of "fact" as well, and found myself wishing the book had footnotes pointing to the source of their information. Also, the book could be about one tenth the size; much of the text is fluff. I have completely changed my dog's diet, so the book was not useless

Small print - difficult to read

The print is really small and faint - it makes it almost possible to see the information printed in the tables.

Best Book Ever!

The information in this book is so important to get in the hands of dog lovers everywhere. It is an amazing read that you just cannot put down. As someone who works hard to maintain good health for myself, of course I want this for my four legged friends as well. Dr. Becker and Rodney are encyclopedias of all the newest and most important information for our pets. I highly recommend!

This is THE dog book!!

This book is the only resource of its kind. The authors have compiled all of the cutting edge science in one place (and yes, they cite everything - this is not just their opinion; they have done exhaustive research) to help dog parents provide the longest and best possible life for their furbabies. The information is presented in an engaging, easy-to-read style to make it accessible to everyone. But the wealth of hard science to back up each nugget of wisdom makes this a super resource for veterinary professionals, too. Anyone who loves, cares for, or is interested in dogs (or cats - or people, for that matter) needs this book.

The book EVERY dog guardian should be reading!!!

I always knew the importance of nutrition in any animals life but before I found Rodney & Karen I thought kibble provided what was necessary for my dog; oh boy was I wrong! I’ve learned so much from these two & they single handedly taught me the importance of Feeding real food to my dog & that’s why I’m writing this review. I normally don’t do reviews but I find it necessary to spread the word about a topic that is extremely important to every pet parent & to change the culture that we ruined once money became the forefront over the health of our pups. Thanks for this book & I’m already waiting for part two ;)
