Pretty but Inaccurate
I adore this book's aesthetic, it's a joy to have on my shelf. But skimming through it, it does have some misinformation. If you're wanting to get it for its visuals I totally recommend it, it's full of beautiful artwork and pictures taken of our wonderful universe. But if you're getting it to learn more about space this is not the book for that. As I said I've merely skimmed and found two pieces of misinformation. So who knows how many things aren't correct. Idk if this would be considered a spoiler so here it is: It comments that Miranda is Uranus largest moon, a quick Google search will tell you that this is untrue. In fact it is the smallest of the large moons while Titania is the largest. On the page Titania is drawn as the smallest which is wrong. The second bit of misinformation might just be due to variation in mythology but through all the sources I've looked at none refer to Phobos and Demos as Ares' horses. They are commonly known as Ares' sons so It's strange that they went with an obscure interpretation or are just flat out wrong. TL:DR- If you're getting it for the aesthetic I completely recommend it but for research purposes no.

Love the graphics!
The images in this book are fantastic! This would be a great book to leave lying around, perfect for impromptu browsing for your kiddos. The text sections are short and very readable. I love that the pages aren't cluttered like similar books which tend to be overwhelming for many kids. I'll definitely be adding a physical copy to our personal library.

Stunning Reference Book!
Wow, what a stunning reference book! Accompanied by gorgeous photographs and illustrations are interesting information about planets, moons, stars, and the universe. The e-book is wonderful, but this is an absolute must in paper book! This would be a great gift for astronomy lovers. Thank you NetGalley and DK Children for providing this ARC.

Great intro to the Universe
I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I would love to gift this book to many of the kids in my family. The illustrations are stunning and the content is presented in a language that children can understand without oversimplifying the information. I would even encourage parents to read it along with their kids, they might learn a thing or two they did not know before. I sure did!

Great Features
DK is a reliable brand in children’s nonfiction. The Mysteries of the Universe is no different. This book contains awe-inspiring photos and illustrations and the space topics are broad. It aligns with NGSS standards nicely for those grades that study space and can easily be incorporated into the classroom as supplemental reading at all levels (reading level is best for grades 3 and up, but grade 1 classrooms can use as a read aloud during science class). It would also make a nice gift for children who love to learn about all things space.
