Can Weber Right the Ship??

I bought this model largely on the strength of the brand name, as well as the table-top size. The results have been mixed, and my rating could just as easily be two stars as three. It worked well, but the regulator lasted only about 10-12 uses, requiring me to get a new one from Weber. Fortunately the grill was one month within its warranty period so they sent me one for free, but the Internet is full of bad comments about this exact problem so it is likely one of inherent design and build. In other words, this is not a reliable grill for long-term service right out of the box. If I were a Weber executive this fact would frighten me to death. Because of the early failure of the regular, I no longer have respect for Weber gas grills and will likely look elsewhere for my next model. That is a real shame. What griller has not seen or used a Weber kettle somewhere? I suspect that the grill parts (all or some) are no longer made in the U.S.A. and have used cheap materials and construction to keep costs down. This will kill Weber in the long run. I hope this new regulator that I installed will work for a long time. I wish I had the confidence to say that I think it will. Sadly, I think my experience is one of many such experiences, and is likely the tip of the iceberg that will sink what I once thought was the best brand out there.

Trailer bbq

Have only used my Weber grill a couple of times, but find it a very good little barbecue. We purchased this to replace the old bbq in our travel trailer. We needed something small to keep in the trailer and with recommendations from relatives, we got the Weber. It is a heavy bbq, but the casting holds heat better than the stamped tin ones. So far I love the Weber bbq and will probably use it at home as well.

Potential disaster

I have not yet used the grill. However, I have a very serious issue to share with you. Except for very small print, no where is there an alert indicating that you must remove the gas cylinder after cooking. Yesterday I was all set to bbq for the family and, to my surprise, the cylinder was completely empty. That means the gas had been leaking for many days without notice. It could have been a disaster. No one at the store of purchase mentioned anything about this. YOU MUST MAKE IT CLEAR ON THE CYLINDER AND INSTRUCTIONS THAT YOU MUST REMOVE THE CYLINDER AFTER COOKING.
