I Loved this Book!
The message that this book sends to people is absolutely amazing! Wonder was so inspirational, and certainly deserves it's #1 spot on the New York Times Best Sellers list in the category Children's Middle Grade Hardcover. Auggie, the main character, was born with a severe facial difference. He avoided going to school for years, until the 5th grade. Throughout the whole book the theme of kindness is seen. Wonder was an instant hit after the film released in 2017, and sold 5 million copies. Becoming a New York times best seller for 5 years in a row. This book definitely deserves to be a best seller.

I love this book!
This book and its message is absolutely wonderful. The novel written by R.J. Palacio touches on bullying, self image, and insecurity. Auggie the main character was born with facial deformities. Auggie has the excruciating fear of the public because everyone comments and stares. Auggie goes to public school for the first time and he’s seemingly rejected by his friends, family, and classmates. Throughout the book we also see the perspectives/POV’s of characters Auggie, Via, Summer, Jack, and Justin. The whole novel shows Auggie’s journey and new public school “lifestyle.” Im so happy I read this book.

Could not recommend enough!
I first read this book as a 6th grader and at the time I wasn't able to completely appreciate the message of the book back then but coming back to read it now I realize how much of a masterpiece this book is. Wonder is a coming-of-age book that touches on very sensitive topics such as bullying and self-image and pulls it off masterfully. Auggie's story was and still is inspirational to me and many others that struggle with their self-image. At the beginning of the book, we are told that Auggie is not normal due to a facial deformity and that he can't go anywhere in public without being stared at. When he eventually goes to a public school for the first time he gets bullied and name-called. Being made fun of lowered his trust in others as he felt left out and rejected by his family, friends, and classmates. Although Auggie is the main character and the story surrounds his life, the book switches the point of view between its many characters such as Auggie, Via, Summer, Jack, and Justin. This setup allows us to see other characters' sides of the story and see Auggie from an outsider's POV. It also gives us insight into a possible reason that some people bully Auggie and why some try to become friends with Auggie. I'm so glad that I chose to read this book back then, and I would highly recommend it to anybody.
